Latex Roll Pouf made from left-overs in latex

July 5th, 2011 -

Incredible good looking pouf made from the left-overs coming from a shoe factory from Italy. Once the foot print shapes are cut, there are these bright coloured latex materials. For sure, the poufs made from this recycled material must be confortable and soft.
Designer Ricrea, master in “upcycling” created these pieces of furniture only for indoor use because latext can not stay in the sun and it is very sensible to water also. If dirty, you can peel it off. The goal of this pouf was to prevent
the consume of new materials
by using existing latex left. This implicates the reduction of energy usage, water and air pollution or the reduction of the gas emissions in the process of furniture fabrication.

Personalize your T-Shirt Chair

July 5th, 2011 -

The T-Shirt Chair was the winning design piece of the Green Furniture Award 2011. The story impressed the jury: Maria Westerberg collected t-shirts from 40 friends together with other textiles: grandma’s curtains, other materials, worn out jeans. The manufacturer Berhin Studios produces now the model made of left-overs from sofa manufacturing.
But you can also give it a more personal touch: you can have only the chair’s frame and to do your own design as you want. Use your worn out clothes, textiles and old t-shirts. As about Maria Westerberg, she studied  Interior Architecture and Furniture Design at Konstfack in Stockholm. After The T-Shirt Chair was promoted in all
magazines in Stockholm she got famous and today, she is working in her own studio.

Roxwell Tote bags

July 5th, 2011 -

Roxwell bags are having a side made from leather and the other from a coffee sack. I think they are not just practical but they also look cool. You can wear it during day but also on a special occasion, in the evening. All bags are made by hand in the UK, using recycled fabrics and materials.
It is recommended to wash these bags by hand, not to cause shrinkage in a washing machine. Also, once put in the machine, the bags are loosing their colors and the bags will have fade colors then. Once washed by hand, all you have to
do is to leave the bag to dry naturally.

Transparent Hey Chair made by Fabio del Percio

July 5th, 2011 -

The transparent hey chair was made by the designer Fabio del Percio. The 18 kg chair, having  a diameter 1000 cm x H 70 cm, is made using hay and hight quality materials. The pieces of furniture are made using the stuffing technique and the hay is covered in a plastic, strong and transparent PVC foil.
The lower part of the armchair, more precisely the bottom of each piece has small holes that allow the hay to breath. I imagine the smell in a room where you can find these hay armchairs! I was a few days ago in a pet store and I sniffed all the hay I could find in the rabbits area:) Also, in summer, my favourite place to sleep is in the already arranged
haystacks. Coming back to Fabio del Percio and the hay chairs: they are all handmade in Italy and it is adviced to change the hay from inside every 2 years. Instead of the hay you could also stuff newspapers or fabrics. Such an elegant and modern design!
